January: Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month!
January is National Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month. Check out the local offers at different locations to learn how to ski or snowboard this winter. You'll be glad you did. Also be sure to check out skiandsnowboardmonth.org for more information and offers from around the country. Visit Ski Utah for the locals only deals!

There are many locations throughout the valley to rent equipment. Try Local First Utah as a resource for some listings.
Here are some suggestions to try indoors:
- Walk around the mall, take some time before and after shopping to briskly walk the perimeter. You can do this around the perimeter of the grocery store, too!
- Try a new class at the gym you belong to.
- Salt Lake County offers some less expensive options for memberships to the local recreation centers, visit Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation for some more information.
- Use those gaming systems to get active with the family, try a game that requires you to be up and moving. Look for deals online for previously owned games for a less expensive option.
- Try an indoor rock climbing gym.
- Take the stairs whenever/wherever possible.
