About the commitment

Did you know that 58.3% of adults in Salt Lake County are overweight or obese?

Obesity is one of the main causes of preventable death in the United States, second only to tobacco use. People who are obese are at increased risk of morbidity from hypertension, high LDL cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, and osteoarthritis.

Make a change

Salt Lake County's Commit to be Fit is designed to help county residents make a pledge to do something, small or large, to lead a healthy and fit life. Commit to be Fit is also a competition between cities and townships, and the area with the highest percentage of participants will be named Salt Lake County's Fittest Community. See how your community is doing.

Do something in your community to promote fitness today! Encourage friends, family members, and neighbors to make the commitment! Help Salt Lake County become a healthier place to live!
